重点句型| Sentence Pattern

(1) There must be some misunderstanding

这其中一定有误会。

遇到比较正式的场合，除了使用前面所介绍的"It's a misunderstanding."(这是个误会。)或是"The whole thing is a misunderstanding." (这整件事都是个误会。)之外，若在不确定但怀疑事件中有所误会的情况下，可以利用这里介绍的这个句型。其中，misunderstanding 是可数也是不可数名词。

.Mr. Morris, there must be so me  misunderstanding.

I'll find out what went wrong and get back to you soon

莫利斯先生，这其中一定有误会。我会查出是哪里出了错，并尽快回复您。

There must be some misunderstanding I's not like a decision Shirley would make.

这其中一定有误会。这不像是雪莉会做的决定。

(2) It's not what you think.

事情不是你想的那样。

这个句型通常在事件发生的现场，因担心他人误会或他人已有所误会时使用。

Let me explain. lt's not what you think.

让我解释。事情不是你想的那样。

.It's not what you think. | can explain it if you let me.

事情不是你想的那样。如果你愿意我可以解释。

(3) I mistake  ...

我弄错、误解.....

利用这个句型表达自己弄错或是误解了某事。

I mistook your signature and thought this document was from someone else,

我认错了你的签名，以为这份文件是从别人那来的。

I mistook the address so I was late.

我搞错了地址所以迟到了。

若是要表达把人给误认了的时候，可以用"I mistake A for B”的句型，表示“把A误认为B”。

I mistook Allen for the manager and called him Mr. Harrison.

我把艾伦误认成经理，并叫他哈里森先生。

(4) I didn't mean that/to...

我的意思不是.....

要解释自己的本意并非如此时可以使用的句型。句子后面可以接that 引导从句或是不定式。

.I didn't mean that this project was not planned carefully

我的意思不是说这个方案的规划不够谨慎。

I didn't mean to oppose your idea I just wanted to bring my concern about it.

我不是要反对你的意见。我只是想要提出我对此的担心，

(5) I'm just trying to...

我只是试着要......

这个句型适合用于向对方解释自己当下所作所为的目的和动机。若是要解释已经发生的事情，只要将动词改为过去式was  即可。

I'm just trying to be objective here instead of taking sides.

我只是试着要保持客观而不是站在谁的那一边。

| was just trying to clarify the main problem instead of putting blames on anyone.

我当时只是试着要厘清主要的问题而不是要责怪任何人。

(6) It means (that)...

这是指.....

利用这个句型解释一个事件、特殊名词或是条件。1可以用明确清楚的主题来替换。

It means (that) we will have to receive the advance before sending you the file.

这是指我们必须先收到预付款项才能将档案寄给你。

The sign over there means (that) smoking is not allowed in this building.

那招牌的意思是这栋大楼禁止吸烟。
